When The Crosses Are Goneby Michael Youssef
A cross is a dangerous thing - despised, hated, and rejected. Today, forces are at work to strip the cross from public venues and to minimize its significance in our public lives. Christians must stand up against these attacks and defend the cross as a symbol of the love and grace of God toward man.
In his new book, When the Crosses are Gone, Michael Youssef provides a diagnosis of the insanity of the current culture and a prescription for restoring sanity to a world gone mad.
Turning the Tideby Dr. Charles F. Stanley
There is a wave sweeping our nation with dire consequences that is changing the way we live in America. Dr. Charles Stanley knows that the only way the tide will turn is if we as Christian citizens take action. Insisting that we are not powerless and that we can make a difference, Dr. Stanley encourages readers to get down on their knees to pray, then get up on their feet and become involved. We must take action to turn our country away from one that:· Is headed for financial bankruptcy· Views a sinless, peace-loving, benevolent Jesus as one to be vilified.
If you'd like to suggest a book as "Recommended Reading", please speak with Joy Vander Vliet during our Coffee Cafe or shortly after church services.

Sarah gave a wonderful presentation on the great things being done by this resource center and provided some bottles for the Baby Bottle Boomerang - be sure to pick one up and help raise money for this wonderful organization! If you'd like to make a donation of time as a volunteer or money to help buy items for these young mothers, go to their web site for more information - http://www.1stchoice.org.
Zakayo Alais - Our "Hope" Child
True Hope (our Worship Team) and a few other church members have adopted this young boy through World Vision for $35 a month. We have a "Tanzania" take out box on the information table at church if you'd like to help this family and make a donation. If you're not familiar with World Vision, they are an international Christian humanitarian organization that provides the opportunity to help support children in poverty stricken countries, especially once disaster strikes. You are updated annually on your sponsored child's progress and the benefits he or she is receiving through your sponsorship and you can exchange letters or even email the child via their local World Vision office.
