Whatever Happened to Worship?

by A. W. Tozer

Decrying much of contemporary worship as entertainment, Tozer says, "When we are worshipping...if the love of God is in us and the Spirit of God is breathing praise within us, all the musical instruments in heaven are suddenly playing in full support." Originally preached as sermons at Avenue Road Alliance Church in Toronto, the chapters of Whatever Happened to Worship convey Tozer's attitude and thoughts on Christian worship.

unChristian - What a new generation thinks about Christianity and why it's important

by David Kinnaman

In his Epistle, the Apostle Peter instructed us to give others good reason for the hope we have in Christ, but to do so with "gentleness and respect." Unfortunately, in the eyes of many non-Christians today, the church has done just the opposite.

In Unchristian, David Kinnaman, president of the Barna Group, has compiled startling research among the non-Christians and learned that Christians are too often known for the issues they stand against, rather than the hope which they stand for. According to the research, believers are seen as too judgmental, too political, and often hypocritical. If you are a Pastor, lay person or youth leader you will not want to go without the details of this critical study. Uncover for yourself the latest research the non-Christian perspective in Kinnaman's must-read book.

If you'd like to suggest a book as "Recommended Reading", please speak with Joy Vander Vliet during our Coffee Cafe or shortly after church services.

Haiti Earthquake Relief

Please continue to pray for the people of Haiti and especially for our chuch family members Alain & Poochina Bastian who have family there.  If you are in a position to make a donation, please do but be very careful of where and how you donate - there are people out there that will use this type of disaster to take advantage of well meaning souls.  Samaritan's Purse is an organization you can trust as far as your dollars going to the people of Haiti and their needs and you can click here to get to that web site.
